If I ever make a droid I will clad it in solar panels without telling it that it can run out of power so it will think it's dieing when really it will just temporarily run out of power before the solar panels recharge it.
For the more observant but less logical: I'll make it so that the solar panels will just barely not break even with the total amount of power used.
Man for a droid working with MHz range processors (or faster), even a few seconds would seem an eternity. It would be like you were immortal and people closed you on a coffin and left you there until a later civilization dugged you up again. That's not right!
