They technically fought on land(mainly air), while they were being attacked constantly they tried to cause some damage on the german own territory as well by bombing the crap out stuff..
Normandy, Natural Resources, Supply Lines. The Bombing Raids Over Germany, Supporting and Supplying the British in both The African Theatre and European Theatre.
Hardly Useless.
Unlike a country I will not name who is Overated during WW2.
As a Rooshun I will tell you about US from our commie perspective.
USSR would lose more people if Americans didn't land on Normandy, but still would take over Berlin even if Normandy landing didn't happen. Also, for me personally, Normandy landing was an epic fail(by US norms) because of commanders' incompetence. Losing 10 000 soldiers during the landing right in front of German fortified positions while there were 2 less dangerous places nearby to land.
Supplies were really useful. USSR was even getting food from US. Not for charity of course, for gold. For me the most useful lendlease things were good American planes (Especially P-36), ammo and Studebeaker trucks. Tanks were pretty much useless, because they were made for comfort, not for battle. Sherman's leather seats and parts of interior were burning just perfectly and then T-34 was quite more mobile and less "bulky" than it's American brother.
Americans did great job at fighting Japanese fleet and aviation on the Pacific. While Chinese killed more Japanese infantry on the land than US.
And no one would pretty much deny US part in the war if they weren't claiming so much that everything was done by them. Hell, someone even believes they they took Berlin. After GB taking part in Africa against Germany and Italy, GB and France fighting nazis since 1939 even after being occupied, Soviets fighting about 3/5 / 3/4 of entire German army and it's most powerful PANZARRR divisions it hurts feeling a little.
Well, it was just story of everything from our perspective. History-kun is blasting off again~
United Kingdom.
Truth, methinks.

Also the Brits Fought in The Mediterranean Theatre heavily as well.
Also America DID do alot for the war effort.
In the Pacific and in North Africa, perhaps. They were pretty much useless in the rest of Asia and Europe.
