As George Carlin has called, it's called the pussification of America. Tag is banned because it encourages victimization. Just about any activity with a minor risk has been banned in schools to "protect" children. Yeah, protect them from nature and reality.

Cause you could trip, fall and hurt yourself, and possibly get a concussion. Some schools have done it.
