My question precisely: *Why* does people buy their crap?
They're widely known for forcing developers to churn out rushed unfinished products and sell them at the highest prices you'll see on the market, why would anyone pay for that?
I'm actively avoiding games by EA, buying ONLY if:
-Has good (see: not bugged as hell) gameplay, which usually means after (many) patches came out
-Doesn't require me to install loads of not actually necessary software
-And is worth the price tag
So far bought just 1 game they published: NFS Shift 2, and because I like that game to the point I wanted to show support to the devs, it was on 75% discount on Steam, and it doesn't require Origin. Biggest flaw? Securom. Worst DRM in the history of gaming.
Exactly! If EA thinks I'll buy a ****** Star Wars game just because its Star Wars they are miserably wrong. I will pirate any (non-casual) Star Wars game just because its Star Wars and if the game is actually worth buying like the mount and blade series, skyrim, the witcher series, etc. then I'll buy it however since this is EA, than I really don't expect anything amazing enough that I would want to support the devs.
me...as a star wars fan...this post literally made me cry...what the **** did this frachise do to you EA...i loved every movie...i still rewatch em and feel like im watching the very first time...this was supposed to be a fun group not one that wants me to suicide becaus someone greed...
Honestly, new Battlefront , ill shell out all my money to them. They can do something as ridiculous as release the game in 57 different DLCs and still I'll buy it (as long as it doesn't contain too much crap from the clone wars kiddie show).
The thing with star wars is that you can slap a Star Wars logo on any piece of **** and people will flock to buy it. Just look at Force Unleashed 2 and Star Wars Kinect, both **** games why did people buy them? because it had the star wars logo slapped on it. Your game doesn't have to be good, Your TV show doesn't have to be good, as long as it has the star wars logo on the box it will make money and that's what they're all about.
I actually agree with the "Improve Star Wars' image in the gaming world" paragraph. The best recent Star Wars game *is* and EA game, and most SW games are crap anyway(And this is coming from a Star Wars fan).
I don't like it that EA has Star Wars, but I doubt they'll be able to make Star Wars games look even worse than they currently do.
Then again, this is EA, so it wouldn't be a stretch for them to prove me wrong xP

TFU 2 actually didn't sell very well, which is why the third one got cancelled. Probably due to poor word of mouth.
people still bought it though ;)
No way! Now, I'll have to include Star Wars games in my not-to-buy-because-EA list. DX

Yea! They will EA the **** out of every Star Wars game! Its not like that will make the games worse that they are now! (yes it will)
And btw KotOR2 was way better than KotOR1 IMO
StarTrek fans are laughing...
mister engineer...you came to the wrong neighbourhood
