changed base polygon to a 60 degree equilateral shape design for improved efficiency. Also reduced (halved) default level 1 polygon size. Maps look far better now. A |> (60 60 60) triangle is much easier to model for a map than a L\ (90 45 45)

the smaller polygonal mesh - the more load on the video memory. Be careful with that or the optimization will goes ****** up.
true, but (performancewise) this is the equivalent as getting a normal polygon and covering the map as polygon level 2.
Yet this is far more efficient vs a level2 90deg polygon map because these shapes offer a better versatility and realism.
