It all happened when* lazy idiots with useless skills and degrees got the idea that there should be an equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity so that they wouldn't have to put effort into anything and earn success. By making yourself a victim of something, be it the fictional patriarchy of feminazis or so called 'ableism', you** can claim that you are being marginalised by society, forcing it to allow people like you (whiny, over-liberal, everyone is a victim, other-kin, head mate endowed, feminazi) to get their foot in the doorway of important positions, thanks to the over-PC environment we have today, which perpetuates the cycle of victimisation as we now have people in important positions spouting these ideas.
Sargon of Akkad's somewhat tinfoily video on Digra is a fairly good example of this in action.
*When this all happened, God only knows, though apparently, as a 'millennial' I'm to blame
**Hypothetical whiny victim of nothing
This is also why the quota system (which from time to time is the center of discussion if it really helps or not) exists here in Brazil.
I don't think it helps, it just makes black/women/poor people more lazy while it forces white men to have to work even harder to have a chance in the job market, making them better professionals.
But at least they don't complain as loudly as feminazis, at least not here in Brazil.
I understand your sentiment. There are some quotas here in Britain. Most feminazis support them, but some common sense MPs are against them. Quotas just undermine the meritocracy we live in.
Babyboomers and the Self-Esteem movement as the cause is a theory I tend to agree with.
The "our children should live better than we do" thing, as well.
"We did drugs, had lots of sex, didn't work, traveled the country, and had even more sex. Let's make sure our kids don't suffer the same fate."

"When & why did everyone become a victim?"
I want to assume that it's a new trend these days. But I'm sure that there are reasons that I don't know of and can't comprehend.
