Designation: MBT-5 After the Second Tiberium War, GDI focused on ecology, rather than defense and transferred much of its military budget to its ecological budget. One of the victims of those cut- offs was the Mammoth Mk2 Walker. Although GDI's military budget was low, many GDI commanders and several high- ranking officers being unable to defend themselves from the Black Hand's Purifier Warmech using Predator Tanks, pushed the GDI Council to authorise the construction of Mammoth Walkers again. The Council though, having in mind GDI's inabillity to afford the cost of Mammoth Mk2's, authorised the development of a new, cheaper Mammoth based on the TW1 Mammoth, which was named Mammoth Mk3 Tank.

Background
The Mammoth Tank was produced in small numbers in mass production factories in Reyjiavik, and their numbers were equaly delivered to all Blue Zones on the globe. GDI had almost 300 Mammoth Tanks at the start of TW3, and they were unable to handle the huge number of Avatars Nod used on its assault on the BZs, forcing GDI to recall the Mammoth Mk2 into service. Although the Mk2 Walker was on duty, it still was much more expensive than the Mammoth Tank, which was authorised for localised production on field War Factories and was used in huge numbers by GDI Commanders due to its power and production cost. With the GDI having to face Nod's Avatars which overwhelmed the Mammoth Tanks in number, the Mammoth Tanks were updated with Railguns making them able to overwhelm bigger numbers of Avatars, but due to their cost, they had to be added on later via an upgrade at the Tech Center. The Mammoth Tank was also used in huge numbers at the last assault on the Scrin Control Node, being able to take down the Scrin Tripods and Planetery Assault Carriers, because of them being an excelent counter to the Scrin's most powerful units.

Tank Driver: I feel like a god, in that armor there is nothing to be afraid of you know. And if there's anyhing the armor cant handle, I've also got cannons to take care of.
Reporter: What are you thinking when being under attack?
Tank Driver: I am thnking that they are stupid enough to try to kill us. In a while they will know how mistaken their actions were.
Reporter: How do you neutralize enemy tanks?
Tank Driver: I roll over them.
Reporter: OK, that's kinda brutal but, you know better. Last question. What do you think about the Nod Avatar?
Tank Driver: I believe that Nod was too stupid to use a walker against the power of the tanks! I mean, that thing can't even scratch our armor, why didn't they stick at hiding? Oh wait, because we kill all their hiding units no problem. Never match our armor boys!"

Firepower Matters
The Mammoth Tanks are believed to be the best heavy battle unit because of their superior firepower and armor. While being excelent against ground vehicles, especially when being upgraded with Railguns, they still remain protected by aircraft because of their rocket pods. That means, the Mammoth Tank is a match to everything, even infantry, as it can crush them under its gigantic treads.
This time I saved the guards life (I´m full of homeworks =S )

MAMMOTH TANK FTW!!! this is my most favorite tank in all of the CNC games, followed by the emperor and the GenX mod God Emperor tank.
though i like the mammoth tank it still has a disadvantage when it comes to speed and mobility, so it could really use some engine upgrades.
and even if it has rocket pods, it still needs to be escorted with slingshots for effective AA defense.
