Post news Report RSS Breaking late in RequiemLux

A late edition of breaking in I know I did it again, and I'm really sorry for that but such things can happen you know. Enough talking lets start this shizzle

Hi who are you and what do you ?

Well, I'm "Me" and also "Myself" and "I", but most of the people refer to me as "You", "Him" or "Roberto" which is my first name.
Let's say that for now I'm answering this question.

what kind of hobbies do you transfer into your own, personal day to day operation?

Daydreaming and drawing.

You've got some great mods under your belt. How come you decided to join this project's or start them by your self ?

I simply wasn't happy for how the things were, so I've decided to change them.

How long have you been working in the bowels of modding ?

Almost 5 years.

Describe to us a day in your life, like for example what you do and how it is.

When I'm not asleep I spend my waking hours being a murder, as a matter of fact I'm constantly killing time in diffent ways. Otherwise I usually enjoy living by pleasing my curiosity.

What is the most important for you, Experience, work ethic, or talent?

I'd say that they're likely to be on the same level; but experience has the power to overcome the talent and work ethic it's usually followed until it stand as an obstacle in the way between you and your objective. So, in the end, experience has the upper hand.

Do you have to work at maintaining your passion and drive?

Yep.

What do you wish you could have done differently?

Everything, but at the same time nothing. I often just find myself cursing and blessing this life in the same breath.

What did you do on college, did you followed any Game design study before you made mods or did you self study ?

You could say self study, I'm not a team player.

If you could give any advise to new modders what would it be?

I'd quote Seneca (an acient roman philosopher) who said: "It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare; it is because we do not dare that they are difficult".

What about your own historical stats?

They're classified.

How did you end up doing what you do now and what were you doing before you worked/started modding?

I end up answering these questions 'cause it doesn't bother me, and before I started modding I used to do pretty much the same things without the "modding" part ^^.

If you could only play two video game's your entire life which two should that be ? Remember just two.
'Final Fantasy VII' and 'Chrono Trigger'.

You look like a guy that speaks 1000 of language's. Which do you actuel speak ?

I speak Italian and English, but I'm also able to understand a bit of Spanish and French.

When you were a kid, did you always wanted to make games/mods, or did you wanted to be a cop and lock up the bad guys, or a fireman and save cats that are stuck in tree's ?

Eheheh. I wanted to be a scientist purely devoted to his experiments and not blinded by the morality of the Society.

What kind of game's do you play your self, RTS, FPS, MMO ?
RPG, RTS, FPS and 'Hide and Seek'.

I was on a binge reading again all the major mod devs interviews and I'm so glad I did! I'm happy all of these didn't get deleted. Somehow I missed this gem back in 2013. It's a shame that RequiemLux is no longer around as he used to :( he gave so much to a lot of projects and helped a lot of people always receiving less than half the recognition he deserved, ultimately being forgotten; but I guess this is how life goes.....
This small interview in particular makes me very nostalgic: it captures how straightforward and brimmed with potential things were back then. The golden age of modding is over and all the coolest figures of that time are fading away like 90% of the websites where the magic happened.
At least ModDB is still standing even if sadly it's no longer what it used to be.
