Hopefully they have more luck than the guys that did the Age of Empires remaster.

Big respect to the Tiberian Dawn Redux mod, you did really well in providing a Tiberian Dawn experience that is modernised. Same goes for OpenRA which might kill the MP of these remasters xD

Personally I was hoping for Tiberian Sun or Generals. Until they show more there isn't much to say. Hopefully those nostalgic fans end up actually buying it.

Getting the videos in HD has me most excited. The levels were just brutal, the gameplay too archaic for my taste nowadays.

Isn't this like the 3rd remaster or so? There was the DOS and the 3D N64 version too xD

I would hope for them all (even Dune 2000 and Emperor; Battle for Dune if possible).

The question is do they upgrade game mechanics or leave them as they were or have a switchable "classic" and "modernized" options (I hope for the latter)

A part of me also wants to see it fail in a dramatic fashion.

They could totally ruin the style. Or EA pulls the plug days before release. A broken, bug ridden, crashing mess is something we haven't had with C&C yet but with every other EA series. Last but not least the remaster could come out and be totally fine, just so humble pitiful and borin that nobody cares and it dies off a week after release.

Perhaps its just a masochistic tendency as I find everything about Rivals most amusing without ever playing it.

"Listen to the sound of your own extinction" as droves of C&C fans cry out in anguish.

I would rather it be a sigh of redemption that we can all enjoy than enjoying seeing EA crash n burn.

as for the crashing point, I had loads of crashes for RA1, Tib Sun, RA2 & Generals but maybe I was unlucky

Oh it seems like the last game Petroglyph made on Steam, the early access Forged Battalion is a real hit. As in a hit in the nuts. If its not EA it might be them blowing it, still might be worth it if we get a new killer soundtrack from Frank or HD movies.

It is not the first time Petroyglyph have abandoned their games early on. They simply use their C&C history to make a quick buck.

what I find funny after all the years of seeing people say "EA just give the franchise to Petroglyph" and despite the chances of that looking like 0%

THEY ACTUALLY WENT AND DID IT..

More like offering Petroglyth a partnership to work on a C&C game. EA still owns the franchise.

I am afraid that they will do to Petroglyph the same thing they did to Westwood.

This one is a partnership, the other is an acquisition from a dying company (Virgin Interactive).
