well I don't know... :D my brains didn't work by then so well as they now. But I can put it to this comment:
To change RA2 resolution to anything you want, goto RA2 folder, there you should find .ini file called RA2MD. There are video settings

ScreenWidth=1440
ScreenHeight=900
StretchMovies=no
Change it to desired one. I'm using those settings at the moment
