Sovereign evolves yet again with the release of version 1.3! Beware of the aggressive new Meloch creature and enjoy a new icon based HUD/inventory. This release also comes complete with an in game tutorial to help Sovereign new comers jump right into the game.
New in 1.3:
Game:
- New animal: Meloch
- Smard and Gooba always yield at least some food.
- Improved AI object avoidance.
- Improved arrow collision on slower systems.
- Antidote is now stored in a jar.
- In game tutorial.
- You can now sprint short distances.
- Fire and poison enhancements have an area of effect.
Interface:
- New Heads Up Display.
- New Inventory and container screens.
- Invert mouse option
- Left/Right shift keys are now available for mapping
Looks good. I like the addition of an aggressive mob. I also like the new hud, the old one was hideous and obnoxious. This game looks better with every update!
Already have some thoughts for the next revision. Eventually I'm probably going to redo the menus again, but not likely in the next update.
Has a learning curve, but feels very satisfying when i hit hit something finally :). I like the variety of mobs, as being a big fan of monsters and strange creatures.
I find it hard to find arrows in grass and maybe walking speed could be a bit faster.
Nice work so far!
I like that the arrows are sometimes tough to find, it drives one to go pick off some Eup or explore for additional arrow creation items. As a beginner this can be a bit tough, but once you get better with the bow and arrow this becomes easier. I rarely hunt for lost arrows, choosing to collect usually only those stuck in animal carcasses and then create new ones to make up for the lost. Granted, not to toot my own horn, I'm pretty good with the bow and arrow these days.
One of the aspects of the bow and arrow that I like the most is the learning curve. Where in a traditional RPG one might receive virtual experience allowing them to become better with their weapons and such in this game you gain literal experience and become more efficient by using the weapon more and more.
