If you really would do that, in today's world you won't live any long. People don't often do what is right. But I agree with the point...

You know what's funny? Christians: Atheism is faith that everything was created from nothing.

1. Atheism is not faith. It's just persuasion that there is no god. Nothing less, nothing more. Every atheist have different view about creation of universe and so on. It's not like ATHEISTS BELIEVE in Big Bang. Beauty of atheism is that we don't have to believe in some established dogmas.

2. I can make question on bases of "everything was created from nothing." like this: What created God? He also was created from nothing? He can't be timeless.

This is big advantage of atheism. Every atheist is different. There is no Holy book of atheism. Everyone of us have different theories about the world. And another difference between us and Christians is that we believe in some theories, but we are never sure if it's true. You can convince another atheist that his theory is wrong. I also have many theories about the world and I don't think it HAS TO BE TRUTH. Just give me evidence that I was wrong and I'll say: "OK, you're right". But try to convince Christian that God does not exist. He is 100% sure that GOD EXISTS! And we can have new and new theories, but Christian faith is based on 2000 years old book from age when people knew nothing about the world. So their theories are in conflict with present reality.

I don't know if there is supernatural power or something like that, but I am 100% sure that Christian God does not exist. Proof?
JUST READ THE BIBLE!

That's because Christianity isn't a way to find truth. It seems to a lot of people a way to find 'hope'. Either that or they believe because it was the only thing they were taught.

That also brings me to another thing. At an early age as a child, we trust our parents to be right about everything. We don't know any better so we automatically assume our parents must be right when they tell us something.

What angers me about this is when a parent can use their 'stone-slabbed' child to write anything they want into their brains. This is a form of brainwashing, whether they admit it or not. For instance, the whole Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, holiday thing etc. It's completely unbelievable yet many young Christian kids are taught it and BELIEVE it for many years. It just says wonders about what kids can be taught to believe given to what their parents say.

@Perun58

To me, it seems that your view is somewhat hypocritical: you make a good point about the general misconception of Atheism, but in turn, you show the same misconception of Christianity.

The only requirement to being an Atheist is that you believe that God does not exist. Likewise, the only requirements to being Christian are that you believe that God does exist, that he created everything, and you believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. Anything more - any other beliefs you may have are personal, and not directly related to your belief in Atheism or Christianity.

It's actually quite ironic how, despite the fact that you and I follow two opposite beliefs, we seem to have many of the same ideas.

Christianity (from the Ancient Greek word Χριστός, Khristos, "Christ", literally "anointed one") is a monotheistic religion[1] based on the life and teachings of Jesus as presented in canonical gospels and other New Testament writings.[2] Adherents of the Christian faith are known as Christians.

"canonical gospels and other New Testament writings"

Except Atheists/Agnostics don't have a book.

Well, you're right - I did miss the bar a bit on defining Christianity. But how I define Christianity and Atheism is aside from the point. I only meant to show that, if an atheist assumes that all Christians misinterpret Atheism, then that atheist is guilty of what he or she is accusing of Christians, and vice versa.

If this were true then you would make better believers than most of us since the pic describes what we are SUPPOSED to do. Rewards are nice but it is not the driving force. God can tell if we are sincere or if we are just doing it for selfish reasons.

I will find a cat in the box only if I sincerely want to see a cat in the box. But I need proof to believe there is a cat in the box. The only thing you give me is that if I believe hard enough, I will see the cat in the box. This is going nowhere.

You won't get proof without looking in the box first. Do you really expect someone else to do it for you?
