(buried)

Your point is invalid since who would rather get killed if all they had to do is say this is all made up. All but 1 of the deciples lived long enough to die naturally. All the others were killed painfully. And before you say, 'oh they had to make up the desciples too!' how would you explain all those absolutely beyond our imagination stories which it would be highly unlikely for anyone to make up, because of how impossible they are. I mean the chain of events just woun't work as smoothly as it does if it was made up. And more importantly their the bible was made up how would you explain the stuff where one person discribed one event from his point of view while another person was discribing the same event but from a his point of view. If it was made up then wouldnt they have made sure that the descriptions were from the same point of view?

"all those absolutely beyond our imagination stories which it would be highly unlikely for anyone to make up"

To start, I don't really find the Bible to have 'absolutely beyond our imagination stories', many science fiction and fantasy stories seem far more incredible to me. Secondly, some of those stories in the bible were blatantly stolen from elsewhere; the flood and Noah's Ark are practically an exact retelling of the Great Flood from the Epic of Gilgamesh, the first story ever written. If only Mesopotamia had established copyright laws, maybe we could've avoided this whole "God flooded the world" nonsense in the first place!

"I mean the chain of events just woun't work as smoothly as it does if it was made up."

Things DON'T go smoothly when they aren't made up, the reason it all goes so smoothly is because it involves some real events at the time (Isrealites fleeing Egypt, etc.) and then combines them with enough fiction for it to flow and convey a message in the bible.

"If it was made up then wouldnt they have made sure that the descriptions were from the same point of view?"

No, numerous works of fiction have told stories from multiple points of view. More importantly, the writers of the bible seemed to be trying to convince people it was true even if it isn't, so wouldn't they write it in a fashion that would suggest that it's truth?

If your making up a story would you include illogical things like, plants being made before the sun? Would you have the most important character met by such sketchy people? (Jesus was frist seen by 2 woman, (if I remember correctly) which also had a sketchy past) or would you have someone like Peter meet Jesus? The Noah observed the flood, the later accounts were written later. (by the way just a question how can you put a date on that tablet? Did it come with a nice tag saying manufactured in X year? Also would it make a story any better to have Adam and Eve shameless before they sinned? By the way why do we have a 7day week? Why do we know what is right and wrong? Why do we all wear clothing? What would happen if someone started running around naked like animals? (yes I know some animals have fur, but they don't bother cover themselves up, why?)

I can easily make up a more incredible story than the Bible.

WHILE DREAMING.

Sorry, but that's just stupid. You're saying that the Bible is true because it is illogical? Lol? You're saying, because a story is illogical, it is true? O.o?

All science fiction stories, or fantasy stories, are illogical. You don't walk through a wardrobe and appear in Narnia. You don't throw a ring into a mountain and blow it up. You don't see people walking around with laser swords and capes muttering "May the Force be with you.".

Just because something is illogical does not mean it is true. That is stupid.

As for your last points, we got them from Religion. Not God, just Religion. 7 days refers to the whole "God created everything in 7 days" and morals are "God/Devil". However, just because we use stuff from the Bible in culture does not mean we believe what Religion says is true.

I think their was a picture or something about this on the site: Moddb.com

As for your very last point ("Why do we wear clothing?"), well... Lol. To keep warm. Where does Religion come into that? Lol.

Ten10dix summed it up pretty well. If something is illogical, that doesn't make it true. That's like saying "Hmm, because Harry Potter is illogical and defies physics constantly (like the bible), it's obviously true!" (though I'm sure that you don't like Harry Potter because it advocates witchcraft or something).

The Epic of Gilgamesh has been dated by scholars in accordance to other evidence found in Mesopotamian civilization at the time. Look, you really can't try and disprove the legitimacy of the Epic of Gilgamesh when you're trying to prove something as absurd as the bible.

"Why do we all wear clothing?"

... I give up.
