without the word of God people do die, (spiritually) and Jesus didnt say dont eat food, he said, "Man shall not live by bread alone" meaning that we need more then JUST food to live. if i had to choose between the word of God, and food. I'd choose the word of God. because my body will die, (sooner or later) but my spirit will die if i dont have the word of God. and i would rather sacrifice my body for the good of my spirit then loose both the body and the spirit. also God provides for those that love him. Jesus pointed out how the birds do not sow or reap, yet the lord provides for them. so in the same way believers are provided by God.

Then get rid of atheism. Atheism is a religion that expresses the belief that "there is no God". We believed in God long before atheism didn't. The burden of proof is in fact upon you for being the first to make the claim that "there is no God".

You cannot proof something that doesnt exist. I can claim our real gods are those who lives in Asgard and put the burden to disproof it on you, would be the exact same thing. "But the Bible says" is no argument at all, except you are entering the philosophic area and leave the scientific one.

Atheism was there before humans even existed in the first place. And even among humans atheism was always their, just pointing to the word "heathen" which was used to denounce atheists. Do animals waste any time of their life to pray? I doubt that, unless the humans teach them to do. Or rather train them.

Some philosophy:

Do I surf on believers pages and rant against your religions? Do I walk into churches just to yell that your religion is crap? I do not. In fact I just do what I expect from others to return. If I would threaten someone with violence, I would want to be threatened through violence. If someone tells me that I will end up in hell because I dont belief in his god, I will make heaven to hell and hell to heaven.

Historically, Religion is the main reason humans kill other humans, over which god is the real one.

Get rid of religion, and you get rid of a lot of suffering.

I agree that religion is a means through which leaders coerce their followers into war, but to my understanding, wars are typically caused by men (and small groups of men) who have many followers and want more than they can take themselves.

Attacking religion in hopes of ridding the world of war is like trying to cure brain cancer with headache medicine: you don't cure a disease by targeting it's symptoms.

No, I don't. I'm saying there would be less war without Religion, and more than Religion, without stupidity, arrogance and ignorance, which are the reason why Religion thrives: Most people (that I know) are stupid, ignorant and arrogant.

By getting rid of religions you would get rid of some "kinds" of wars and oppressions, only some. Next step would be to get rid of greed, hate and fear. I would say religion would be the first step so our society is mostly based on reason so that there is no mystery and less difference between each other so it would be easier to break the bounderies.
