The thing is good people will still bring food and water, religious or not. Religion just creates this illusion they are really helping people when they're not. Giving them false hope accomplishes nothing in the end.
Admittedly yuribeat does have a point here. Missionaries tend to help a good bit when disaster strikes, it's one of the few good things organized religion does- though I'm not fond of the ideology it carries.
Giving hope and trying to brainwash other people with particular strain of religious dogma then they are weakest and most suspectable is not exactly the same thing. Its very rude to say at least.
Its actually a repost.

You do realize that Missions provide food and medicine also. You are trying to make it look like all they do is pass around bibles.
Printing Bible and giving it to someone who needs food, water and condoms is waste of paper.
my school literally had a prayer card drive for haiti. nothing else.
A book that teaches them how they can help themselves is still much more improving then a book full of ancient myths and beliefs without evidence.
I see using disasters to further your agenda as being a bit distasteful.
Still, I suppose you wouldn't see it that way and the food and water also brought over at least helps a bit.

I find in fact that giving false hope is one of the worst things you can do. When the bubble bursts, those who you've given false hope will hate you.

religious hope is nothing more than false hope and superstious religious brainwashing
