Okay, not ALL American Christians are psychos...but they are definitely the weirdest ones. Still though, not all American Christians are as insane as the ones you seem to have encountered. You might want to check out the teachings of a liberal pastor known as Robert H. Bell. The ultra-conservatives hate his guts, and that's reason enough for me to like him. XD

The reason I said that is because the common image of a "lake of fire" only appears twice in the entire Bible, and is specifically reserved for the worst of the worst.
Understandable. However, I still think that the key point of the image's quote still rings true, whether it's a lake of fire or not.
