Hitler apparently toward the later of his reign probably believed himself to be God (many Germans actually did). If you thought you were God, you wouldn't need the churches any more, would you? Churches would no longer be needed when God himself is standing right there leading a country.

Something that should be put to rest for the benefit of everyone.

Hitler's Christianity is made clear through his life and his writings. However, it does not mean Christianity is evil or Christian are nazis. It simply debunks an argument often used by theist without having to explain that good people do good things and bad people do bad things regardless of religious affiliation.
