I'd really like to see a legit reason why two people of the same sex cannot express their love for each other. All I see are religious or dumb reasons.
When it's not for religious reasons, people usually oppose it because it's apparently a "bad environment to be raised in" for kids. Though if people actually cared about how kids were raised, then there are quite a few things that would have to be made illegal before having a good reason to make gay marriage illegal, such as alcohol, smoking, being poor, etc.
I think the last one of those happened in Hungary.
That's just an excuse for being homophobic.
It is also against nature. Evolution does not count with sex without offspring. If there is a gay with pretty good genes, it is quite a loss for mankind that he has no children.
About raising children, well, I don't know. It can be confusing to have two fathers and no mother, or two mothers. But now, in time when even women work in same branches as men...
Well, todays marriage itself is still relict of history. It has no rational point. You can be happy with your partner without being married. If it doesn't work between people, marriage can't help it. Meh, you can marry your animal, I don't care...

Well, I guess most of us (guys) find sex between two males disgusting, while sex between females is considered as quite common. Therefore you can't be objective.

I agree, the majority western countries have laws that are supposed to garrentee equal rights for all citizens on matter what there gender, race, sexuiality and religion. so banning gay marrage is illegal and anybody who supports its is basically saying that there bigoted belief trumps the law & civil rights. which is ********.
