I always liked kooky designs like this, sadly this plane was rather rushed and nt much thought was put into it's design.
At first it was going to be launched from a Bomber ((TU-95?)) and be used as a high speed strategic Nuclear Bomber but had issues with returing to base..then they wanted it to be a Highspeed Recon plane kinda like the SR-71..after that seemed unlikely they tried making it an Interceptor, eventually it was cancelled.
It did have a brief re-imagining later but it was quickly shelved again in favor of the conventional MIG-25.
