Apparently, according to quite a few of the pilots, this thing flew horrendously. They joked that it was only a good aircraft if flown in a straight line.
While I heard somewhere that it is quiet maneuverable and underestimated. No joke. I don't really know the truth either. Could be one or the other. Both sound reasonable to me.
By looks I'd say that it would've flown pretty unconventionally, whether that was a good thing or not... Well like you said, there's two different stories.
