to me like a RAH-66 Comanche... unfortunately the program was cancelled due to the project being under funded.

Nah, it's not the comanche.

I've been unable to find any information on it, i don't think they even revealed the name or designation.

Helicopters have not any pinpoint accurate weapons and if you sent them somewhere, terrorists will hide themselves. They can hear it and it's too slow. That can be a reason for canceling Comanche. On the other hand, if there is a way how to get your specials to destination without any warning, it's good for you. If you had to fight with stealth heli's, you would probably only waste your money, but if you modify few older and successful heli to transport specials without notice, there are many new ways how to use that forces.

The thing is, they're designed to fight a conventional enemy. Not people hiding in caves or amongst crowds.

Though from what i've read, they made some miscalculations about the air pressure or temperature or something like that and that's why they weren't so 'stealthy' during the Bin Laden raid.

Do you have a source for that? I've heard basically what you said from multiple people but I don't buy that the US would not release any info on the helicopter at all yet give a detailed explanation like that.

I found it in a news source. I'll try and dig it up again, can't remember who wrote it exactly.

Stealth choppers for special units. Sounds like a total waste of cash if you ask me. They won't have any real advantage over other transport helos, not when you face enemy Shilkas and alike.

Could be useful for going under the radar when you know there's AA missiles in the area and you keep your distance, but not so for a situation like this.

is it worth the buck? After all you can only fly them in friendly skies...

if it's also quiet, radar and IR invisible and if you use it in night...

One of special forces problems is how to get them to target area safely, this is the solution

Modern enemy is not whole country, it's guerrilla type. Yes, they have AKs, RPGs, Stingers and something like technical from generals, but no Shilka, or AA missiles. They probably don't have even radar if it's smaller group.

@GriffinZ
Even if it saves only one life it's worth the effort.
