Hmmm...well we have never seen any real flight data like what are it's true specs.
I don't think it is a lot worse than a F-22, when the Su-35BM is already a deadly and IMO more capable fighter than F-15 and all other 4th gen fighters (and propably also better than the F-35 which ain't a lot of magic).
So yeah I think with more advanced engines the PAK-FA will beat other 5th gen jets by it's pricetag.
Supermanoeuvrability, advanced AESA (possibly more advanced than the current NIIP Irbis E Prototype built for the Su-35BM) VLO structure with a fairly minimal RCS. Anti-grav suits for pilots so that they can sustain manoeuvres packing above 9G for 8-10 seconds, designed because of the new-found abilities of the aircraft. (Both the Su-35 and the PAK FA). Fantastic payload with the possibility for weapons added on external hardpoints (sacrificing VLO profile) if need be. Good multi-role aircraft but especially dominant (assumedly) in an air superiority role.
It has been stated time and again that the current engines fitted on the PAK FA are NOT the final product. Finding something better than those Saturn powerplants isn't exactly easy.
There's at least this much that can be practically guaranteed through extensive analysis of released data. What India is probably doing is (A.) either being dicks, something they have no problem with doing or (B.) trying to throw the scent of Western interest in the aircraft (by saying it's crap there's going to be a whole lot less fearmongering).
Augh, I'm sick of reading this BS. US and their military "experts" are so utterly stupid. Russia was just as interested in stealth at the same time as the US if not before, and if they honestly think the Russians haven't developed engines with the same sort of shielded design (or something better) that has been used on the Raptor since the '90s then they are the most blind old goats I've ever seen. That technology is practically archaic today.
Just going to say, the best quote from the article was that the F-35 "can see a missile take off from 820 miles away." Which is great because it gives the pilot 820 miles advance notice to hit the eject button.
Like they could make anything better than PAK-FA or F-22.
Or even F-35.
Maybe they want to arrange with the Chines?
(Communism - quickly-cheap-lots)
Honestly never was sold on the PAK-FA.
I think Russia has better projects they could continue instead.
But that being said I don't think The PAK-FA was ever meant to have Stealth as it's most Important trait XD
Also the plane is not nearly finished it's development phase.
Either Way Russia will be ok, even if the PAK-FA doesn't work they will find something else. That is the advantage of having several design bureaus.
