Description
Just got to rank 5 in War Thunder and got this Bf 109 E-3. It's a decent plane and I like it.
Try Bf-109 F-4.

yes indeed the F4 is death incarnate, that engine mounted 20 mm gun with minengeschoß is much more effective then dual wing mounted cannons on E3 with only HE.
This is stricly speaking ingame though, but I have a feeling the same thing applied IRL
I prefer the Spitfire. Better turn rate and the 2nd spitfire gets 2x20mm cannons alongside the 6x mg's which are very good on their own as well. Currently rocking the 1st Spitfire and it's awesome having turn rate of rank 0, not even the op russian planes get to me.
Of course I started playing WT for the Spitty, and spitty alone, but there's a couple of planes that grew on me during the grind. Mostly them Italian fighters, and the P40. And BF109F4 (1st german fighter I liked)
Atm I hope they will add MC205 soon so I can enjoy the MC200 series alongside my higher tier planes, and have more dakka for the Historical Battles.
Once you enter the higher tiers BF-109's become absolute demons. Their climbrate is phenomenal and they can can prosecute targets at their leisure from high up.Only way to fight them is to make sure you have an energy advantage you don't give up at any cost...
