Sometimes I wonder: If someone takes some stored yet perfectly airworthy late model Mig-21's, refits them with this nose configuration, adds glass cockpits, fly-by-wire and a Zhuk-AE radar, what kind of monster will those jets will become?
Of course it can't Indians call it flying coffin too 0_O
Yet you can't make a beast out of those... the only way of using them will be like "emergency fighter" role or emergency interceptor or even light attackers they just can't go anyway further than that for our time... their design philosophy has ended...

IMY it would be an excellent defense fighter for nations with a short budget and a small airspace.
