Just Biz as usual at Lockheed.
Gotta hand it to them they have very good Lobbiests.
I Find the stealth argument laughable when it comes to the F-35.
At first cost was an issue. Last I checked the F-35 was super expensive..
Yet the Typhoon was deemed to expensive? *boggles*
Sad thing is the Silent eagle had it in the bag. Then a random 180..hmmm..
They will reap the seeds they Sow.
Have fun F-35 buyers fighting against Rafales, Su-series, Pak FA, J-10s and other capable fighters that your adversaries will be buying with your Unreliable engine, Mediocre Stealth, Poor Payload, and poor combat radius at payload, poor ECM defense and awful Dog Fighting capabilities.
In the end it's all about money with Politicians. As with everything pretty much.
All I have to say.
They most probably will not need to fight anybody with the F-35, cause the world for now is not a hot zone right now.
Laughing stock hurts, but now the Politicians is happy and now everything is quite.
What's going on with the Silent Eagle? Ceased developement? Cause that thing looked pretty cool.
Oh yeah now to pay for the F-35 due to Budget cuts the A-10 may be going Bye Bye..
Great one of the best performing planes in it's Role in the US is leaving possibly, but yet the Airforce would never give them to the Marines or Army, nor would the pentagon let them because they would want the marines to only use that F-35 XD
When I read this, my heart froze and a feeling of darkness swept over me.
How can USAF bust tanks without a 30mm Gattling gun attached to wings? If this happens it will be a true tragedy.
Well at last all the F-35 fans will be happy and get their wish because that is all Murica' will be flying as air superiority fighters and multirole fighters soon.
Popping Insurgents is a lot different then meeting an equal enemy with trained pilots and equal or better equipment. Will be interesting to see for sure when it happens. I just hope the F-35 has some of the best safety equipment for it's pilots :S
There goes the last bragging right of the M1A2 as well, no A-10 escorting a battlegroup any more.

I was referring to the A-10 being designed basically as a GAU-8 with wings. I probably should have said "cannon with wings" instead of "attached to wings."

Well contrary to what some believe, I don't pull things out my butt when it comes to Airplanes and things XD
