Can't say I agree with that. The plane has so far 13 problems:
1.Helmet-mounted display system does not work properly.
2.The fuel dump subsystem poses a fire hazard.
3.The Integrated Power Package is unreliable and difficult to service.
4.The F-35C's arresting hook does not work.
5.Classified "survivability issues", which have been speculated to be about stealth.
6.The wing buffet is worse than previously reported.
7.The airframe is unlikely to last through the required lifespan.
8.The fuel tank and fueldraulic systems have left is vulnerable to fire sources including enemy fire.
9.The software development is behind schedule. And yet to reach expected performance.
10.The aircraft is in danger of going overweight or, for the F-35B, not properly balanced for VTOL operations.
11.There are multiple thermal management problems. The air conditioner fails to keep the pilot and controls cool enough, the roll posts on the F-35B overheat, and using the afterburner damages the aircraft.
12.The automated logistics information system is partially developed.
13.The lightning protection on the F-35 is uncertified, with areas of concern.
And after all this flaws, each planes costs 117m to 236m+ apiece!
I can't help but wonder why isn't US already scarping the program and resume F-22 Raptor production. it would be cheaper and more beneficial on the long run.
why hack its easier to just buy them ... that how China acquired A-123 a electric car battery company that produced batteries designed by students and staff at MIT ... no hacking required there :/
Good point. There's no threat to the pilot of the UAV, and the direct feeling of killing people is somewhat disconnected, compared to say, actually being there in a manned aircraft.
Aaaand now the fan blades have cracks in them...Seems the F-35 has major problems...Britain should have stuck with the Harrier, and not ordered these...
I seen one of these land at the airfield I live by, awesome plan, big engine.

The US will fix all those problems in due time... just in time for some other country to steal the sercets via internet hacking.

Raptors have problems too. I heard pilots don't want to fly it due similar technical issues.
It has it's issues true. But they are a lot and I mean A LOT less in numbers and will take a lot less to fix the entire F-35 clusterfu*ck.
Doesn't a Raptor cost almost a billion a piece?
US$150-180 million actually.
Lol, I have no idea where I heard that from then.
Wow...never knew you could park and polish **** so nicely in a row.
That aircraft is putting the USAF to shame...
They don't need it anyway. Modern wars are conflicts between unequal countries, where UAVs are enough (I hate UAVs)...
Fricken boring is what UAVs are.
But mostly, it changes war to video game. There is no negative feedback from such war, as there always was...

There's always the threat of people hacking into the UAVs though...

Better place for them would be Davis-Monthan Air Force Base if you follow.
