Oh God, I love both of these aircraft. Their designs are so unique. I would personally choose the Sabre. The MiG can turn tighter but if pushed too far it will stall unexpectedly. Not to mention that a MiG has to have a greater lead on a target due to its massive guns. (But the MiG is so sexy..)
These 2 aircraft are practically identical except for a few things, like I think that the Sabre is faster in a dive and the MIG has greater climb rate.
WTF! They never carried missiles! In fact, air-to-air missiles never existed back when this fighter was made! They probably had rockets for ground attack.
To my knowledge the first effective air to air missiles were the R4M's carried by Me262s. There may have been others before those, but regardless they were developed considerably earlier than the Sabre and MiG 15.
Hmmmm...I think I like the MiG-15 better. Aside from that they're both pretty ugly. (personal op)
I agree with you

Early Sabre models did not have machine guns so after they spent all their missile ammo they were helpless.
You means the phantoms not the Sabres.

indeed the were the 1st wire guided air to air missiles ever made.
Oke I may have made a mistake, my knowledge of combat systems is spread not focused or refined as that of you guys.
Also the original German version was far more advanced than both the German and Russian copies >;D
Focke-Wulf Ta 183 - "Huckebein"
even had those early wire guided missiles xD
The rear on that is abit shorter though. Also, it didn't physically exist, merely another late war German concept.
Im pretty sure there was at least 1 prototype made of wood due to lack of proper resources.
