You start out in the Stone age (from 200,000 years back - Dinosaurs, and other creatures live and battle alongside and against Man in the Wildman universe) and progress through the eras, looting Technology, Items & Weapons from defeated tribes/camps, kingdoms, etc and shape your own path (your character and your army) throughout history in a large seamless open environment.

For those of you who pledged to wild man may have gotten an update saying that funding has been canceled. This is true.
Here are the details from Chris Taylor -
"We have some news today. We are canceling the Wildman Kickstarter.At this point, it makes sense for us to focus our attention on other ways to keep Gas Powered Games running. Unfortunately, we are unable to share any specifics in public. When we have news to share, we will be posting it on our site. If you want status updates, or if you want to continue discussing Wildman and/or this Kickstarter, please consider migrating over to forums.gaspowered.com.We are profoundly grateful to those of you who backed this project and Gas Powered Games. Your passion and hard work put us in a position to write this exciting new chapter in the history of GPG."
All is not lost because of people like you Gas Powered Games has gotten some offers that they cannot discuss publicly. You can find the details in the last Kick starter Update here.

What happened to Kings and Castles? :P
Kings and Castles was put on hold due to they could not find a publisher or Investor interested in giving them money to continue development of it.
With that said they have not crossed off Kings and castles - they still want to make it! It would cost up to 6 Million to get completed. So they went with wildman a smaller game (in terms of Scope). That costs less to make.
