The Thing II new features
Below is a brief summary of the new features that will be coming to The Thing II. Thanks go to some of you who have in-boxed with your valuable feedback.
New Modes
Story Mode – Play the brand new adventure where the first one left off
Original Mode – Play The Thing I with all new additions and features
Marathon Mode – Play The Thing I then Straight to The Thing II carrying over supplies, weapons and experience.
Thing Mode – A brand new Thing Mode with origins in a new Gen Inc facility
Siege Mode – Replacing the Old Style Survival Mode this brand new Siege variant will have you surviving against 50 waves of increasingly difficult enemies with limited supplies and party members in various themed scenarios.
Tutorial Mode – The infamous return of the Alaska set Tutorial.
Test Mode – A play_pen level to mess around on to your hearts content.
Extra Content – Hopefully will be updated over time and include short stories and fan fiction. Like what happened to Avery’s squad? What would happen if Russia used the thing as a weapon in the cold war? The possibilities are endless…
New Characters
The new story mode features over 50 brand new characters.
The party size is now capped at 8 and a brand new party menu system has been introduced using KGC Large Party.
New Classes
Captain – Helps boost morale amongst the party and is as efficient as the Soldier in Combat
Scout – The fastest class in the game, has a few helpful unique skills to get him by.
Attack Dog – Mans best friend is ready to lay his life down on the line for you.
Scientist – A new variant of the researcher who can hack terminals and has knowledge about the thing entity.
With these classes come a huge variety of new skills and a new passive skills system where you have to equip passive traits to enhance your units in combat.
New Items, Equipment and Weapons
Brand new Items such as Food (wow), Large Medipack, J&B Rare, Adrenaline and a whole new bunch of crafting items utilized in the brand new Medical & Weapon crafting System. (Se_Mc_Duns Crafting Grid Script)
New Equipment and New slot system. Slots now Include Weapon, Head, Armor, Outfit and Accessory. Armor is brand new to the game and is worn over your outfit. Armor includes things like Combat Vests.
All the original weapons are back (some with new paint jobs) as well as a brand new selection of weapons and crafted variants of weapons such as the M1911 with Extended Magazine. Some of the new weapons include: Crowbar, Katana, CZ75, Ak-47, Hunting Bow, M14, L96A1, Spas-12, Blowtorch and
the M72 LAW.
New Enemies
As science progresses at Gen Inc, as does the modified variant of the Thing entity bringing with it a whole new array of mutations. Alongside this are new humanoid enemies that will harass you.
New Enemies Include: US Arctic Marine, Gen Inc Trooper, Gen Inc Hazmat Unit, Creeper, Walker, Crawler, Behemoth and New Boss Units.
