Alright so I am working on this now and it starts of slow at first but it gets into it then. Its all switched over to vx ace now. I won't be posting anymore news until a big chunk of the game is done or at least ready to test so if you have any ideas or suggestions for the game post them in this news thread/post. Watched the New Thing Film last night, Don't know why it has such mixed reviews it was pretty awesome. Okay it hasn't got a scratch on the 1982 film but I still liked it, it was its own film. Basically it tells the story of the Norwegian base who find the crashed UFO and Thing entity. Not all the staff are Norwegian though they call in a few extra hands such as American researcher Kate Lloyd (who is going in my game lol). I really liked the ideas they used in this story and the monsters were pretty gruesome. Damn American pilots ticked me off though; Had this one guy who thought he was MacReady. Anyways a lot of the characters in the film die (as expected) but there are 2 survivors of the Norwegian mess. Kate Lloyd the female protagonist (who I thought would ruin the film but was actually awesome and very pretty ^^) ends up just driving off into the Snow in one of them snow truck vehicles. [So perhaps our new hero can find her if shes taken shelter in a abandoned base or whatever]
Overall it was pretty good, 8 out of 10
*Spoilers*
If you watch the credits you will see that "Lars" survives. Lars is a Norwegian dog handler who cannot speak any English. A random Norwegian guy lands at the ruined base in a chopper and he and Lars chase this Dog that appears out of window. They chase it in the chopper while shooting at it. Where do they go then? Outpost #31 and that's how the carpenter film starts off. Lars was played by Jan Bolen in the 1982 film and the original stunt dog for that scene was called Jed.
One other thing...
In the film they haven't thought of the "Hot Wire” that Mac thinks of; So they try mixing contaminated blood with normal blood but someone sabotages it (Somebody got to the blood! lol) anyway Kate Lloyd finds out that The Thing cannot replicate non-organic matter such as medical plates in the body or tooth fillings. They use this to find out who is Human and who is Thing. However they do not all have tooth fillings. I will reference this in my game.
