Terror Strike is a tactical first person shooter is which the player leads a team of four British SAS soldiers through twelve missions across four locations. The game's most unique feature is the speed in which the missions are carried out. Mission lengths range from around a minute and a half to six minutes and faster is always better. The primary challenge of the game is not clearing the missions but rather clearing them with a high enough score to progress to the next mission. The player is scored on speed, accuracy, and their ability to keep the squad and hostages alive. There are fairly in-depth training missions in which the player will learn room clearing, firearm handling, and commanding the squad. For multiplayer the game offers cooperative and team deathmatch modes.

Terror Strike was developed by Kuju Entertainment and originally published by Konami for the European market under the title “The Regiment”. It was later published by Encore Software for North America under the title “Terror Strike”.

There are some differences between Terror Strike and The Regiment. Terror Strike seems to play faster or at least has a higher frame rate. You are allowed much more time in the missions to achieve an A rank. There is more blood when characters are hit and blood now sprays on the walls. Dead bodies can be pushed around by shooting them or using grenades. There are “bonuses” awarded at the mission debrief screen which are basically achievements for things like having high accuracy or using the knife to kill enemies. One final difference is the removal of the extra interview videos with John McAleese that were unlockable in The Regiment.
