In 1986, the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at the Chernobyl power station. Soviet authorities established a 30km 'Exclusion Zone' around this nuclear wasteland, but in 2006 a second explosion rocked the stricken reactor, obliterating all living things and causing the Zone's boundaries to ripple outwards. From this epicenter came waves of mutated creatures, deadly radiation, and a strange, anomalous energy. The Zone was cordoned off by the military, who would shoot on sight anyone foolish enough to brave the horrors within.
This is a gamedata folder for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl v1.0006 with the max weight limit already set to 10000kg, in case you do not want to constantly manage your inventory and just loot to your heart's content. It only contains folder structure and the original "system.ltx" and "actor.ltx" files, with only the "max_weight", "max_item_mass" and "max_walk_weight" edited. Copy the gamedata folder to where you have the game installed (where the "fsgame.ltx" is located). Then you must modify the "fsgame.ltx" file, found in your STALKER directory, in order for any changes of these files to work in-game. Once you open the "fsgame.ltx", just change the "$game_data$ = false| true|" statement into this one: "$game_data$ = true| true|" (without the quotations). Don't forget to save the file! Credit to user atroxyph for the original tutorial on changing the weight limit. I uploaded this file as his linked gamedata folder no longer works on v1.0006 and crashes the game.
Can Confirm that this one works for me. 22/11/2023
Thanks for the response!
how about also add the fsgame.ltx? so its absolutely dummie-proof.
i red the comments about the tutorial and posted the original files before i've seen your post :)
Thanks for your suggestion. I think I considered this option, but I believe an original installation of the game will have the savefiles in the user's "Documents" folder, not the installation folder (which is standard practice I imagine), and the fsgame.ltx will contain that path on the first line, something like: "$app_data_root$ = true| false| C:\Users\username\DOCUME~1\STALKE~1" (where username is your windows user). If I included the "$game_data$ = true| true|" line and the fsgame.ltx file, I would have to explain, that installing this mod will start a new save and how to move the save files in the game's installation folder. Either way some manual change has to be done by the mod's user and I felt this is safer, since noobs will not complain about their lost progress. Also more educational, as they will at least peak a config file and who knows, maybe get them interested in modding or something.
