In 1986, the world's worst nuclear disaster occurred at the Chernobyl power station. Soviet authorities established a 30km 'Exclusion Zone' around this nuclear wasteland, but in 2006 a second explosion rocked the stricken reactor, obliterating all living things and causing the Zone's boundaries to ripple outwards. From this epicenter came waves of mutated creatures, deadly radiation, and a strange, anomalous energy. The Zone was cordoned off by the military, who would shoot on sight anyone foolish enough to brave the horrors within.

Description

Reupload of AMK 1.4 in English so that you no longer have to manually downgrade your SoC to 1.0004 and download the mod and its patches and its translation separately. AMK is the OG of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. modding. Most mods incorporate something from AMK whether its one of its mechanics or its anomalies. It's the best "close to vanilla" mod, improving A-Life beyond what most other SoC mods do, adding new mechanics that only objectively improve gameplay like repair kits, artifact transmutations, emissions, dynamic anomalies (they move after emissions), adding immersive new anomalies, sleeping, and more.

It is compatible right off the bat with the Steam version of SoC with the 1.0006 patch?

AMK is fantastic but is this compatible with the default Steam version? I did try and play it but got a crash after killing the bandits at the car park to rescue Nimble. I'm guessing it's meant for 1.0005? I tried looking for a crash log but no luck, log file came up blank.

Side note, if anyone has any tips on how to downgrade Steam's SoC to 1.0005 that'd be appreciated. I've got resources on how to do it for GoG but since steam autoupdates, that won't work for me.

Years ago I used to have a way of essentially creating multiple versions of the game that worked fine, weren't pirated, and had 1.5 and 1.4 versions for all the modding fun.

Unfortunately for me I lost my files for that and don't remember how I did it in the first place, doesn't help half my Stalker links no longer exist :(
