Call of Pripyat takes you once again into the vicinity of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor that exploded in 1986. This so-called "Zone" is a highly contaminated area cordoned off by the military and now is combed through by the so-called stalkers, modern fortune hunters, in search of unique artifacts. In the role of Agent Alexander Degtyarev, who is dressed up as stalker, you have to investigate the mysterious disappearance of five military helicopters and thereby stand one’s ground against the various stalker groups.

Description

I compiled X-RAY Oxygen and have liked messing around with it so I have decided to post it for others to use.

Thanks for this, OP! Will it work with Atmosfear?

No problem. I am not sure if it will work.Oxygen has some issues with mods because it no longer supports lua and there will be script conflicts that would require changes to be made. If you want something more compatible I would use Open XRAY. Although I am not a fan of it. I would suggest ABR Engine but it has mamy crashing issues but it does perform the best.

I have tested a couple of mods but only texture packs. Absolute nature and structures and photo realistic zone 2.1 textures. The best part about Oxygen really is the stability. Open XRAY is okay but falls on its face in slightly populated areas and its OpenGL renderer sucks it has so many issues om Radeon Hardware I can not speak for Nvidia cards.

Holy ****. This is amazing! It's got tons of features I would've killed for. FOV settings, HUD FOV settings, Grass detail distance and radius...

I've been looking everywhere for a way to add crouched weapon bobbing to vanilla CoP. How did you add that? Or is that just a feature of the engine?

I am having an issue where turning on certain settings is creating crashes after I press "apply." Turning on Motion Blur and sliding the scale up, for example, caused a crash upon hitting "apply." So did turning up the grass detail density too high.

I am glad that you have been enjoying the engine and it's features.
The crouched weapon bobbing I am sure is part of this engine and you can edit the intensity through the user.ltx in userdata, the option is called cam_inert. To avoid some crashes while editing the seetings you should also apply them through the user.ltx to see if it bypasses the crash which it should.

In the use.ltx motionblur will be named as mblur and grass detail density will be called r_detail_density. 0.4 was my default and the max value is 0.2.

if you have any other questions just ask and I will answer them as best as I can.

You also get these other settings for grass you may like to mess with
r_detail_height
r_detail_l_ambient
r_detail_l_aniso
r_detail_radius

So like, the amount of features in this engine is amazing, but maaaaan is my FPS tanking like crazy coming from someone who has a high-end PC, sporting a 3080 and Ryzen 5800X. Any reason why this is happening?

For some reason in parts of the game there is a weird bottleneck. A great way to identify it is in the first area at the ship you head to once you first start the game. If you stand on the hill next to it you can look from left to right and you'll see the FPS change drastically in specific areas you look. Once you move so far away you can look in the direction with no fps issues and the game will run fine. Gun fights don't seem to tank fps or effect it but any version of the X-RAY Engine is majorly CPU limited due to how single threaded the game is. Your best bet to improve performance is setting your 3080 to high performance in the driver so it will always boost to it's max clocks regardless of load when in games. This will help force extra FPS even in the most CPU limited circumstances and also setting the xray engines priority to high in task manager can also help a bit. Other than that there isn't mcuh you can do to fix it. There is another engine on here that's 64 bit that has better fps by a lot but it has major crashing issues especially at high fps and you'd easily get 300fps maxed at 4k with your system and the engines can't even get passed the first mission. So overall Oxygen is the best but I would still give the other engine a try just incase you have no stability issues. But don't be fooled by their description it doesn't actually have support for 16 threads.

If you want a truly high end Stalker experience get the standalone mod Anomaly. They have their own custom 64bit engine with lots of fixes and great performance. Lots of new guns, levels, models, mutants, sights, sounds and quests.

Thanks for the insight. Yeah, I saw your comment over at the supposed "x64 Engine" post, and decided to try this out. But I may as well give that one and see what the results are.

And I've played enough Anomaly and other freeplay STALKER mods, ngl. Right now I'm on the prowl for some story driven based STALKER mods, like I'm waiting on that True Stalker mod that seems to have a big backing from the Russian STALKER modding community.

It'll be a good idea to checkout the other engine. From my experience with Radeon GPU's it crashes a lot but, it might work fine for Nvidia GPU's. I know for some engines and mods that Radeon isn't supported as well. A great example of this is lost alpha, it just doesn't agree with Radeon and will crash quickly and SSR is really messed up.

You may like Lost Alpha if you haven't tried it already. Lost Alpha has a massively expanded storyline and it has a really nice look to it along with lots of fixes and better performance. You may also want to checkout Stalker LFO. Right now LFO only has the base Clear Sky storyline but it has very nice vvisuals. It even has a fully functional DX10 that is stable unlike the vvanilla DX10 renderer in Clear Sky. LFO is also standalone which is very nice. LV the dev has put a lot of work into the engine.

Yeah, I have an RTX 3080, so I guess I won't run into any problems.

I've played a bit of Lost Alpha but lost interest early on. I might visit again one day.

That LFO one looks neato to me. Def' gonna give that one a whirl when I finish up Memories of the Zone mod.

Most likely not, however I can link another 2 64bit engines for Call of Pripyat.

ABR Engine: Github.com
Use the .bat file to launch the game.
Open X-RAY: Github.com
Open X-RAY has more features than ABR Engine but it has quite a lot of performance issues.

Open X-RAY has major performance issues. Especially in populated areas. ABR engine performs great but for me it crashes far to often to be used.

Greetings, I am a big fan of this engine as it brings me so many features I dreamed there would be. However here are some problems I discovered, wondering if you have encountered them, too.
1. Crosshair and HUD flickering during ironsight and scope texture aiming.
2. Tracer showing no matter the vision to it is blocked. I can see the tracer across stones and trees.
3. Some items not spawning corrrctly, Joker's PDA, Zaton's Notebook are gone, and the merc's USP is also gone.
4. Inventory boxes have problems taking things out, I have to take them all out and place unwanted things back to take out things I wanted to take.
5. When aiming, the bullet comes out not from the crosshair but somehow defined by HUDFOV and hand's and weapon's rotation.
6. Maybe AI problems? NPCs are more closer to deaf and spot me much slower, and their "brain memory" also dropped. As Alzheimer's.
7. Sound playing speed sometimes accelerates, making it funny to hear. But can be solved temporarily by Save&Load;.
X. Some other problems to be found.
Again. I really appreciate this engine, if the development wasn't shut down, it would most probably become the true Xray1.7 and be a superstar engine!

Looking forward to your reply and thanks for reviewing my comment. :)
