Spring:1944 is a WWII themed RTS based on the open source Spring Engine. Our goal is to create four fully functional sides (US, Germany, USSR, Britain) with period-accurate units and strengths. Realism is a primary design goal, second only to creating a game that is fun and accessible to play. Why is this different from the umpteen zillion other WWII RTS games? A few reasons. First: SCALE. In an average game between two players on a medium-large map, you may see upwards of 400 infantry of various types, dozens of halftracks and armored cars, artillery batteries, light, medium and heavy tanks, aircraft and more. And - you build it all yourself. Second: Degree of control. With roots in the classic RTS "Build, expand, destroy" playstyle, YOU make the decisions on what units you think are most suited to the current (and ever-changing) situation, and build accordingly - none of this "here are your two Shermans and thirty men, have fun..." business seen in games such as Sudden Strike.

Description

This "Butcher-Bird" was one of the most advanced fighter designs to ever see mass-production. In the hands of a skilled pilot, the Fw190 could out-turn and out-roll nearly any contemporary Allied craft. Now excuse me while I run around pretending I'm a Fw190...vrooooom pow pow pow! Confirmed hit!
