here is a better example of the campfire window we have 2 slots at the bottom for wood and twigs to fuel the fire and above the fuel is what its applied to so the fire is applied to the apples each food has a specific amount of time it takes to cook if you cook it too long it burns if you leave it in there it turns to ash and you get nothing back you need to keep putting wood in the fire or twigs if no wood or twigs is fueling the fire the fire will stop and you will get no light.
Still don't get why you would cook apples :p
Btw, if it rains, does the fire go out?
at the moment no it burns the wood and cooks food i just want the core to work very well before we get into more detail :)
