Space Engineers is a sandbox game about engineering, construction, exploration and survival in space and on planets. Players build space ships, space stations, planetary outposts of various sizes and uses (civil and military), pilot ships and travel through space to explore planets and gather resources to survive. Featuring both creative and survival modes, there is no limit to what can be built, utilized and explored. Space Engineers features a realistic, volumetric-based physics engine: everything in the game can be assembled, disassembled, damaged and destroyed. The game can be played either in single or multiplayer modes.

Update 01.041: Players can now have proper control of their ships while sitting in the cockpit by adding (drag-and-drop) blocks to the toolbar. Activating such block can turn the blocks on/off, reverse rotation of rotors, increase/decrease velocity and many other actions already present in the control panel. We have also enabled the option to shoot from weapons which are attached on rotors and pistons; players can now build retractable weapons!

I am so glad toolbar interaction is in the game now, it should make interaction way more easy and fluid! Also, retractable weapons.. AWESOME! Can't wait to give this new update a try :D

Hope the pistons work better now.

Was trying to use pistons to make retractable engines that are still controllable (achieved by snapping them in place with merge-blocks). Problem was, whenever I activated the merge-blocks, the pistons got separated.

Now all they need is automation. Binding a sequence of commands and constraints to a button press, then you can have "Load Torpedo", "Open Doors", "Fire", and "Reload", etc.

Yes, that would be a great thing to have. Here is hoping for these command sequences to come in an update not too far in the future!
