The 8-bit Studios team are developing a "MOV" multiplayer online versus game free-to-play for PC's, next-gen consoles, smartphones and tablets. Similar to versus games out on the market-think Tekken or Street Fighter-our combat system is based on the skills and reflexes of each player, utilizing a system of combos. However, the action is in third person and may include up to 16 players at a time! All combat will be live action, online in battle arenas where the way players handle their characters will be the key to their success!
In Skara, we do not let characters improve by levels, making them effectively invincible. In other words, a novice player has the same chance of killing a veteran player, just like in versus fighting games. The only difference is marked by the reflexes and experience of each player in battle.
We are fast approaching the last 48 hours of our kickstarter campaign and we are 91% of the way to our first goal!
It's now or never, we need your help to spread the word about our indie game!
I also want to make you remind you that we have hidden a special Easter Egg on our Kickstarter Campaign and only a few of you have found it!
Finally I want to share with you the background of the Durno culture:
In the time it takes to draw a breath, our entire world was lost.
-from the Chronicles of the Durno People
It would not be easy to find adequate comparisons to the large empire built by the Durno people. In this planet, the achievements of Charlemagne may suffice. If Charlemagne had had one son as skilled as he, and that son had had an equal son, then perhaps one could imagine the extent of the success enjoyed at one time by the Durno. Their chief enemies have always been the Tamvaasa, to the north.
Ruling from the fortified city of Jotheim (which in Durno means Place of Protection) the Durno empire once stretched in every direction.
That is, until the time of the two suns.
Whole cities were swallowed up, lands that were densely inhabited became empty and a mighty people were immediately brought to their knees...
