NO RETURN V1.125 - Shoot some fugitives and explore as you go. Not a demo just a development update. More downloads to follow soon. Remember to watch...
V1.125 (full 350sq-km map included)
If you are new to the NO RETURN development pages think Ray Mears or Bear Grills meets the NWO and you will have a good idea about what we are trying to achieve. Obviously we are still in development and still a bit away from a prototype but hopefully we can get it made. Download V1.125 to take a walk about and shoot some fugitives added in for testing. Shoot fugitives in the feet, a few collision bugs I still need to fix but blood impact locations work as does blood tracking and normal tracking.
As watchers to the game will know development stopped due to a broken PC and limited funds to continue with it. I now have a working PC again so I hope to do some stuff to improve on V1.125 when I get chance.
NO RETURN places you in the wilderness with the task of surviving through seasonal changes and different weather conditions. Different areas of the map will offer different habitats and after much experimenting I think I can do the following.
* Lakes and Rivers
* Gorges and dangerous cliff paths
* Farmland and outbuildings
* woodland and forests
* swamps and marshes
* rocky and remote islands
* rural areas and military bases
* mountains with rock falls
* barren heath and rundown industrial zones.
Generally speaking I want to make it as wild as possible with interest at every turn. If all that fails I will attempt to redo it more like ARMA2 with a farmland type of landscape as that saves on trees and is less complicated for one person to do by themselves. Given that it is about wilderness survival Ill keep trying to make it as wild looking as possible. I don't have all the assets added into V1.125 so keep your eyes wide for more to come like shrubs, bushes and cliffs to name a few. What you see in V1.125 is still just in for testing so no models are final at this stage. Getting it all working is still where we are at but thankfully the open world map seems to work fine even when not that well optimized.
Animals to Hunt in the 350sq-km Open World
The three basic animal classes (Air, Land, Water) are working and all I need do is make a nice spawning system for them in order to make it a basic hunting game for you all. Stags, Rabbits, Trout, Ducks, Crows, Deer are all working to a basic degree so Ill attempt to get it done and up for download.
The spawning system is needed so that the full 350sq-km map is available to you for hunting. Tests I conducted on a 30sq-km area worked well so I don't see any problems other than getting a nice spawning system made which makes the game a challenge. Given the limited time I have I think that's as best I can do for the next download.
Above and beyond that I don't know what is happening but I hope to speak to the programmer soon. IndieGoGo will start when I know what we need and what we can achieve.
NO RETURN will probably return with a hunting download, beyond that I have no idea. Keep the peace and speak to you all soon. Any questions let me know. Ill update this post when I get chance with any new screenshots I take and keep you informed of any new developments.
