These screen shots one of our testing environments; in the scene you'll notice the shattered moon, a planet and the sun all of which are 3D objects with animations and effects applied. In addition but not apparent in the static shots there we are in the process of refining our AI's flight behaviors.
A not so minor design change moved us from flight on a 2D plane to full 3 axis movement with 3 camera angles to toggle between including a ship board camera (some what FPS like), a 3rd person over the top of this view as seen in the shots and a strategic view is planned for wider view of the battle.
