Pokemon 3DXP (v1.2.5) 64x Make-Up
May 3, 2013 Demo 0 commentsDue to architectural compatibility issues(64x vs 32x) that have been brought to my attention, I am releasing a 32x and 64x version of my latest progress...
CHECK OUT THE NEW FORUM!! :D Pokemon3dxp.freeforums.org
Current Features:
-- Full 3d terrain and models
-- Fully animated 3d characters and Pokemon
-- Real-time Day/Night System
-- MiniMap at original Handheld viewing angle
-- 3d Pokemon selection GUI
-- randomized size ratio upon Pokemon creation for Pokemon variety including Giant Pokemon that can be 2-3 times bigger than average, own a GIANT POKEMON!! Size ratio carries through evolutions.
-- Shiny Pokemon
-- Pokemon Following Trainer, Pokemon under a certain size can even follow into buildings.
-- Switching control from Player to Pokemon
Anticipated Features:
-- Dungeon obstacles that can only be overcome with the help of a pokemon in your party Ex. A key on a ledge that can only be retrieved by a flying pokemon. So you must call out your Pidgey and take control of it to fly up and grab the key and bring it back. If there's no flyer in your party, you have to go get one and come back.
-- Realtime Full 3d Pokemon combat right on the spot. No fade to black, fight arena, turn-based combat. Run, jump, fly, swim, duck, and dive. Fight confusion and sleep as quickly as possible to avoid a powerful attack. Use your surroundings to your advantage.
-- On Demand Pokemon Mounts. Dash through the grass on an Arcanine or soar through the skies on a Dragonair
-- Re-imagined Gyms, Caves, Dungeons, Side Missions, and NPCs that will enhance the game and take advantage of the new features, without breaking the flow of the handheld storyline.
-- Move Mastery. Move must be practiced or else it could fail in the field. A good Pokemon relationship increases practice effectiveness.
-- PP Pool: PP is no longer individual it will be combined into a PP Pool; no more 5 HydroPumps and a MaxEther. Now another factor of move selection is included. A pokemon with 4 low-power, high PP moves could have 90+ PP and use any move that many times. Ex. Pokemon has MegaKick(5), ExtremeSpeed(5), DynamicKick(5), and FalseSwipe(40) who's PP add up to 55. Then the pokemon has the option to learn CrossChop(5), if he replaces FalseSwipe he'll lose 35 PP. That 35 less MegaKicks. So FalseSwipe may hang around to give PP to more powerful moves.
-- Enter-able Poke-Daycare
--Fully Modeled Interiors with seamless in/out transitions
--AND MORE TO COME!!

So what makes this any better than the other 3D Pokemon game?
Vs. Pokemon 3D: Full 3d animated graphics, Fully controllable Pokemon, as well as a wealth of new, original gameplay aspects to take full advantage of the Pokemon control and 3d possibilities. I also hope to incorporate character customization w/ different ages.
Vs. Pokemon Generations: We actually seem to want the same thing, at this point it's just healthy competition, despite the fact that I'm a lone developer Vs. their two person team. Personally, I admire their game as well and competing with them is a form of motivation. I encourage you to try both of our latest builds and compare them for yourself.
Why not just join forces to develop something better, faster?
...I don't know. On the one hand, I would love the opportunity to collaborate with Xatoku and the Pokemon: Generations team. They're all just as dedicated and hard-working as I am, and with our knowledge and experience combined, I know we could make something great. On the other hand, it's not just about finishing something, for me, it's about the journey, a journey I take very seriously. It's about the experience I'm gaining, and the name I'll make for myself with this project. Xatoku are already notable for their "Z Warriors" game based on DragonBall Z. It's my dream to see this game realized exactly as I intend it. And I'm sure neither of us would abandon our own game to dedicate time to the other. Perhaps in the future, when both of our games are released, we could collaborate for a sequel. We're both doing game in the I and II Gen, so maybe we could go up to Gen III. Honestly, I look forward to it. :)
Yeah, I get that. Best wishes anyways.
