Using id tech 2 as a base, OverDose features updated engine features like full real time lighting and shadow mapping, physically based rendering, particle and physics simulations and more. Well, its not Quake 2 anymore ;)
But sure, why not? Our previous work, "Quake 2 Evolved", had bump mapping, spec map, vertex/fragment programs and Doom 3 style per pixel shadows.
