Staying up to date:
This is a rare update for our IndieDB page. Head over to the NeonXSZ Page on Desura for future updates about the game.
Steam Release
After nearly a year of continuous alpha development on Desura, NeonXSZ will be arriving on Steam on August 22nd 2014. Exciting!
For more info visit the game's Steam Store.
I'd like to say a huge thank-you to everyone who supported the game here on IndieDB and Desura. For those that bought the game on Desura, your first question will likely be - "Do I get a free Steam key?". Of course you will :)
Your second question might be "Will you continue to update the game here on Desura?". Of course we will.
New Videos:
To coincide with the Steam release we've released three new videos including a new trailer. This trailer ends with dynamic links to the others.
Development Update:
The last couple of months have been a hectic time for Neon's solo developer. There is a huge amount of behind the scenes work to prepare for the Steam release and the necessary marketing to help the game reach it's target audience. This naturally delayed the next update for the game, but rest assured there is still plenty more to come.
Once things settle down, after the Steam release, development will begin on the next major update. This will include brand new Challenge Arenas, upgrades, and gadgets for the fourth space station. (Level 30-45).
Further updates will then continue to add similar content for each of the higher level space stations and is expected to take a total of about six months. This should bring us very close to content complete, and the game will likely enter the Beta stage at that time.
As always, you can keep up to date by visiting NeonXSZ - Daily Development Diary
Current State of the Game:
The core gameplay is essentially finished, and a single play through can last well over one hundred hours. The first 30 hours is now considered to be content complete. The remaining 70+ hours are about 75% content complete. They are fully playable but we plan to add additional new areas, gadgets and upgrades to the later stages of the game to keep the gameplay constantly evolving and fresh.
Help to Spread the Word:
There is never enough time in the day for a solo-dev, and any time spent trying to let my target audience know that the game exists is time taken away from development. Any help you can give in spreading the word can make a big difference. Sharing the new trailer on social media, telling friends about it, posting about it on forums, and even just commenting here on Desura - or wherever you see NeonXSZ mentioned - can all help and is greatly appreciated.
