Hello everyone! We are getting to the stage where we are looking to submit our game to Steam Greenlight. (Exciting I know!) This will mean that you will be able to vote for Marooned alongside other potential steam games, If we get enough votes the game will become 'greenlit' and you can expect to see Marooned on Steam! Additionally we are going to be showing some early environmental footage very soon in which Aleksi (RaZoR-FIN) and I will be discussing many features of the game and what we are planning to do in the future. Onto the main topic of Q&A we'l be answering as many questions as we can in the video, to ask a question just post your question in the comment section of this news post and we'l then prioritise what we talk about based on the most common questions.

Here is one of the many beautiful views you can expect from this vast tropical landscape.

Once again as we progress through the development of our game, positions are again opening up for new members to join our team. We are currently looking for a Lead Character Designer/Animator, who will be responsible for everything from player character models to animals and other organic models. If you're interested in the roles, send myself (Fudsine) a private message or contact me at my E-mail address michael_crssly@hotmail.co.uk and we'l get back to you.

~ Fudsine

UPDATE: The position has been filled.

Looks great, I have a few questions, but I don't expect them all answered. ;)

1. Is this game still going to be multiplayer? You say in the description you can play with friends, but nothing has been mentioned since then.

2. How hard are you planning the game to be? Generally survival games give you a real struggle just to stay alive, especially if there aren't any enemies per-se.

3. In the description you say 4km squared island, and in an image you said 10km squared, which is it?

4. Any idea on the system requirements?

5. Will you be able to build a base/shelter on the island? Or is it purely walking around and exploring, and living in caves etc.?

6. What will the player's needs be like? Will you need to sleep? Eat? Drink? Shelter? Stay warm?

7. Have you considered a Twitter account or a Website to post development updates on?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just quite excited for this game, it looks fantastic, like Far Cry 3, as it should, seeing as the FC3 engine is an evolution of CryEngine 1.

I hope you carry on this project and do well with it. :)

Questions!

1. Will this be available on Desura?

2. Will there be a possibility of riding the animals? (You know, to get faster like using a vehicle?)

3. Is there going to be any sort of storyline, for example, how you got to the island?

4. A dev blog?

5. What sorts of weaponry? Bows, stones, spears?

6. How often do you develop the game?

That's all, looking good.

1.Will there be a LAN option if multiplayer is enabled?

2.Would you guys consider making like a zombie survival mod a good couple of months after the game has been released and people are looking for a completely new replayability?

3.Will we be able to set traps to capture animals?

4.Will there be dangerous sea life that attacks players who venture out into the ocean?

and thats all, Game is looking GOOD!!! will definitely get this when its released ;)

I see that a lot of questions are about the actual gameplay which will be the main factor determining whether this will get greenlit.

When will we see some actual gameplay footage or honest plans gameplay wise?

I am really happy to see this game still active. (Noticed the grass texture looks a bit unnatural and that rocks bump-map at the bottom left of the image is out of place.)

been checking this game for quite a while now. I would like some more updates though. Dev's reporting in one in a while is just about the best thing for fans! Good luck with the game, will look for it in steam greenlight.
