This changes the disguise system so that it is closer to the one in Hitman 2, Contracts, and Blood Money. You can find it here. Download it, unzip it anywhere onto your hard drive, then press one of the F1-10 keys to enable the corresponding cheats. F2=invisible, F3=inf_ammo, F4=one_shot_kill, F5=perfect_weapon, F6=max_contract, F7=stupid_ai, F8=god_ai, f9=ai_detect, f10=inf_instinct, F11=god.
Alternatively open up one of the .enable files with any text editor and fool around with the values. Works with 1.0.443.1 or older versions.
NOTE: I did not create this mod, so I can't offer much support. I can only tell you what worked for me.
This changes the disguise system so that it is closer to the one in Hitman 2, Contracts, and Blood Money. You can find it here. Download it, unzip it anywhere onto your hard drive, then you can edit any of the .enable files with your chosen text editor like notepad and fool around with the values (or copy paste one and rename to make your own, make sure to add the filename to a shortcut key in the binds.conf). I found the following to be pretty balanced:
AI_InstinctRevealTime=0.50
ai_DisguiseDetectionDistanceMultiplier=0.28
You probably want to keep the second value somewhere between 0.25 and 0.50. This changes the detection system so that you will only be detected in a disguise if you stand pretty close (3-5 ft. or so) to someone in identical clothes, as opposed to how it is by default where you can be spotted from 50 feet away and further. I have only tested this on Purist, so I don't know how it affects detection in the other modes.
Once you have the values set to your liking, save the file, then run the executable called 'Configurable_Injector'. It should pop up a small window. After you see that, start Absolution. Once the launcher appears, the Injector window should disappear. Go ahead and start the game and load up a level. After you are in game, press the F9 key, and you should hear a very faint ding/beep. I'm not 100% sure, hit F9 again after reloading a level or starting a new one. You will need to run the Injector program every time before starting Absolution (as long as you want to keep using it).
If you open the README file you can see a list of the hotkeys for the mod, I haven't used any of them (except for F9) so I can't speak to how they work. I do NOT recommend cheating for the sake of getting on the leaderboards, the only reason I'm reposting this is because it has made the game significantly more enjoyable for me, and hopefully will for you too.
EDIT (12/5/12): Link updated to newer version of trainer
site: S0beit.me
thread: Unknowncheats.me
Around December of last year, Square Enix did tweak the time to get detected for professional difficulty... the time for them to detect you is still the same on normal difficulty. The distance is however much shorter, to ~10 feet. Only enemies with the same disguise as you can see through it.
However they still have the rather broken system of turning your back on NPC's won't stop them from getting suspicious. Only if you are blending in with a crowd can you do that. So it's still unreasonably hard. Disguises that completely cover your face will still get enemies suspicious.
This trainer can atleast lessen the issues by making the distance shorter, to something a bit more realistic.
Sounds good. I'm still playing Absolution so I guess I'll give it a try soon.
How do install it?
Can anyone confirm it works with the current Steam version of the game (447) ?
what are the controls?
so, there's no script.var? I see the file was updated. Has the editable file changed? there is "cvarlist.txt", which has the indicated lines in it, but in a slightly different numerical format, which makes me think this might not be the right file.
also, when I execute the thing, a tiny window with an anime chick flashes up for only a split second then disappears. is that supposed to happen, or is the mod crashing?
Yeah just read the instructions. It was updated, that script.var was from the original version. I've edited the description to include how to edit the files & what files. If the game crashes when you press one of the shortcut keys it means your using the new versions, ie v1.0.447.0 or v1.0.444.0. Your gonna have to downgrade Absolution to 1.0.443.1 or older if you want to use this trainer.
how do you install it
I'm using the correct version but it doesn't work. It doesn't crash but it's not working either.

Wait is it a Virus?

Please help where do you put the files?
Doesn't matter. You just start Configurable_Injector.exe before starting the game.

Not working for the latest Steam version. So you might wanna change to launch day.
Steam library -> Hitman: Absolution -> properties -> betas -> launch_433_1
Also use the trainer in the folder named hitabso_Trainer_s0beit_v1.
