Nice!
looks very sleek
Only hand cannons on deck or? It looks like a high speed, low armaments, low hold vessel, so wouldn't be my first choice:p. Nice drawing!:D
No guns here- This is a pilot boat, responsible for transporting a pilot to larger vessels. The pilot would then guide the larger vessel into port. Pilot boats were built for speed because the pilot who got to the larger vessel first would be the one who would guide it in and receive payment. This essentially turned pilot boats into racing craft. They were still perfectly able to operate on the open ocean.
They were built for speed, so they were not designed to carry guns since that would require more bulk in the underwater hull. Pilot boats were historically armed with one to six small carriage or rotating guns in times of war, though.
Because of its small size, shallow draft, and speed, this would make an excellent pirate vessel for the end of the Napoleonic period.
Nice piece of history there to know ;)
Definitely. We plan to integrate details like that into the game. Kind of like a fun history lesson you don't even realize is a history lesson.
I know this is way late,(I'm just looking through the screenshots)but all history lessons are fun :D
