Gunman Chronicles with AI upscaled and manually retouched textures and models. Also includes adjusted weapon viewmodels to accommodate wide FOVs.
Instructions:
1. You need Xash3D to run this; the textures are too large for vanilla Half-Life. Get Xash3D-FWGS 0.19.2 here: Github.com
Later versions of Xash3D(-FWGS) may work, but I personally had an issue pertaining to level loads not working properly in Xash3D-FWGS 0.20, so I recommend 0.19.2.
2. After you've extracted Xash3D, you need a copy of Gunman Chronicles to get some assets from. It is not possible to buy Gunman Chronicles legally; download the RIP version from a certain abandonware website (google), unless you happen to have an original disc.
3. Extract Gunman-Chronicles_Win_EN.zip. Copy the "rewolf" folder from inside the "Gunman" folder. Paste it into your Xash3D folder.
3. Optional but recommended: grab the unofficial Steam update for Gunman Chronicles here: Moddb.com
Obviously using Xash3D we're not going to need the Steam integration, but this unofficial update integrates some maps from the demo into the main game. Paste the items from the zip into the rewolf folder and allow them to overwrite.
4. Paste the items from the Gunman HD "rewolf.zip" into the "rewolf" folder and allow them to overwrite.
Note: if you have detail textures on (you won't if you follow these steps), I highly recommend turning them off; they are unnecessary with the high res textures.

What programs did you use to make this?
Thanks! I used ESRGAN with various models (namely the model trained on Fallout 4 textures, and falcoon300) to upscale the textures, GIMP for texture work, and Blender for model edits. Check out the Game Upscale wiki for more info.

Does this work as well with Xash3D or does it require Xash3D FWGS?
This requires Xash3D to play due to textures size. Original GoldSrc doesn't support bigger resolution and unable to start.

This is not what I asked, I already knew that it doesn't work with GoldSource, I asked if it requires the fork Xash3D FWGS or if it works as well with the base Xash3D.
But it's okay, I already tried it with the base Xash3D and it works just as well so I already figured out the answer to my own question.
Is it possible to combine it with Demo addon?
