FRONTIERS blends the feel of first-person RPG classics like Daggerfall with the relaxing tempo & simplicity of a point-and-click adventure. Discover ancient mysteries, live off the land and fight deadly creatures, all in a beautiful open world.

  • Massive open world - go anywhere, any time
  • Unique relaxing pace and tone
  • An exploration-focused main quest that spans an entire continent
  • Simple gameplay - no stats or skill trees to memorize. (It barely qualifies as an RPG, really)
  • Live off the land - hunt, trap, fish and cook dozens of varieties of plantlife (including hallucinogens!) and a dozen varieties of animal
  • Minecraft-style crafting system
  • Dozens of skills to discover and learn, including magic, survival and stealth skills
  • Hundreds of shops, taverns, homes, caves, castles and other structures to explore
  • Four player co-op multiplayer - explore with your friends!
  • A haunting soundtrack for every region
  • Oculus Rift Support

Update 8: Trailer!

2 months ago News 4 comments

Psst. Don't tell anyone I showed you this, but for the cool peeps on IndieDB only, here is the promised sneak peek at our official trailer. Apart from the explanatory text, there is nothing in this video that didn't come straight from the game. Visuals, sounds, voices, the lot. No pre-rendered stuff, either! That's not how we roll.

Steam store page to follow soon for more info. Be sure to Watch us to stay up-to-date on what's coming, and when.

RyanSpanAvatar - Ryan A. Span, Project & Design Lead

PS. I've been asked this question a few times now: No, we're not doing a Greenlight campaign. We're cleared to release straight to Steam when all is ready and the stars are right. Because our game is amazing, that's why.

You read that right - we passed the co-op stretch goal a few days ago - now you'll be able to explore and survive with up to 4 friends. Very exciting!

Hello - sorry for the long delay in responses everyone, I'm afraid most of my attention is on the steam forums these days. A lot of your questions have been answered there already, here's a link:

It's not very violent, I'd give it a 'T' for the combat but that's probably overkill.

The game looks really cool! What age rating would you give it, just out of curiosity.

this game looks neat but i would ask about the gameplay style, how will be the point adventure part be, compared to the firist person exploration travel? i mean, you will be able to tough a boton and the game will pass from a style to another or will be as cofunsing as dagerfall? (you know moving around with arrows and looking around with another bottons and then pointing out objets with cursor)

It's all first-person from beginning to end. (When I say point-and-click I'm talking more about pacing and tone than mechanics.)

This turns out to be a hard question to answer - it's slightly larger than Oblivion in terms of raw size. But thanks to fast travel and hang gliding, it may end up *feeling* a bit smaller. (I'll be curious to hear what players think when it's released.)

Surgeon simulator is so much easier in VR that it's, well, not funny. They need to handicap you by inverting your L/R axis or something.

@floatvoid Teleporting in the P.A. environment would have worked. But the devs couldn't let go of controlling timing / position. #LetItGo

@floatvoid Teleporting in large spaces is also amazing.

@floatvoid With standing VR moving with a controller is like standing on a remote-controlled Segway. It feels totally weird / unnatural.

You could tell the devs are stuck thinking 'standard' FPS is a viable genre in VR. Which is forgivable. But the best VR demos have moved on.
