Etherium: Dark Storm is a 3D Multiplayer Online RPG in-progress. Etherium will be unique to most RPG games, in that includes real time strategy elements, including a tile-based layout, leading of military units in certain sections, building structures, and the view being more top down, zoomed out. This gives the player a more world-type view. However, the persistent, online Etherium world will still be thousands of times bigger than what a single player can see at a time. Also featured will be atmospheric weather effects, trade, and more. Etherium will be highly integrated with the website, utilizing a unique login system to handle characters and accounts.

The design process for the world of Etherium is still underway, so this concept may or may not be final:
For thousands of years, humanity has been penned into a small alcove by the fierce, violent storms wreaking total devestation on the surrounding areas. This has severely limited the multiplying of the humans. For nearly a year, however, the storms have continued to recede, finally becoming bearable for humans to weather. No one knows what lies beyond the hills, mountains, deserts and oceans that are now open to travel and expansion, but people have begun to settle in wider areas. Initial reports indicate that the storms' origins are magical, as they move back across the landscape to whence they came, leaving lush, fertile areas for settlement. Etherium is essentially a story of human expansion in a magical world, unknown to them.

Yes, as the title suggests, we don't have anything new to show you, as the work done since the last update has been very "behind-the-scenes" again. However... have we got a lot to tell!

(+) To begin, DrLabman has joined the Etherium team as a coder, and has already made some contributions. Everyone say hi.

(+) We are very close to a semi-playable alpha version of Etherium. What does this mean? In an immediate sense, we developers will be able to hop online, walk around the map and see each other. From a more long-term standpoint, the more exciting development will begin soon. Now that the framework has been laid out, we can begin work on game code, media, etc. Things are looking good. 8)

As always, you're all welcome to come leave comments on our forums and mod profile. Thanks for your support.

Hi,
I am wondering if this game has any music. If it doesn't, I am a composer, and I would like to compose music for video games. My website is brennananderson.com. Go to the "Portfolio" page to hear some of my music. Also, if you know anybody who needs music for a game, and I have the style of music that they want, please refer me.

Thanks,
Brennan Anderson

Looks interesting. I'd like to see how this goes. Added to watch list.

Got a few questions about this, but I'm sure they'll be answered over time.
