Phobos Routing Station addon - Doom III

INSTALL - drop pak420.pk4 into your Doom 3 base, and launch with "map station/station" or "map station/station2".

ABOUT -

This is a small project I've been working on as a hobby for the last couple months. I used to be a map maker many years ago and thought I'd try my hand at making something for Doom.

There are two versions included - "station" and "station2" . "station" i made as a no-threat, no-weapon, clean version to show what a routing station in space may look, feel, and sound like. I tried to create as much of a space station ambience as I could. "station2" is the same map, but I tried incorporating Dooms excellent horror resources.

There is no storyline to follow in "station" - the player is free to walk around and take in the environment as long as they wish. Listen to radio chatter in the comm room, play a game of Super Turbo Turkey Puncher in the common area, or experience the environment shifts between service areas, and the more commonly trafficked areas.

There is a storyline for "station2" - but please remember I was just a mapper, not a story writer :) Here, you are a marine sent to investigate a distress call from the station. You start in a rescue vessel docked to the station, and go in to investigate through the stations basement service airlock... After discovering what happened, you'll find a boss battle in the cafeteria. Only then can you head back to your marine ship and get out of there (you'll find the exit GUI on the same panel you start up the emergency power at the beginning)

"station2" is not a run-and-gun style map. I focused more on what I could do with the engine, scripting, and sound design rather than plain monster bombardment.
